LAUREN DARN

Part of a project exploring 'The life cycle' and human impact on life in the world around us. This swan; a bird which we link to beauty, dignity and a certain regal grace, had been run over and left to die in the road by a corner shop. Sadly, this is something many humans would barely acknowledge because we place a heirarchy on certain animals; suggesting some have more human feeling, emotion and therefore importance than others. Birds rarely come top of that list.

I found these pigeons at a nearby farm, hanging from trees. Fresh blood dripped from their beaks. It was one of the most unexpected and macabre sights I've ever witnessed.
